MBS was developed and patented in the mid-1990's by Solucorp of New York State. The patents to MBS have been licensed to Global Technologies Group of Sarasota, FL. (OTC: GTGP).

Our company, M² Polymer Technologies, is an authorized sales agent for the product. 

MBS is a patented blend of Sulfides, Phosphates & Carbonates that, when mixed with waste contained soluble metals and RCRA Heavy Metals, aggressively binds those metals and coverts them into non-leachable, insoluble forms so that waste passes the EPA TCLP test.  It offers a permanent solution to Heavy Metal pollution problems.

The US EPA has evaluated the technology under the Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation ("SITE")  program.

The technology has been used to treat for Lead, Chromium, Cadmium and Mercury and other RCRA Heavy Metals.  In August of 2012, we presented to the US DOE at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and are currently in talks with DOE and B&W Y12 LLC there to possibly construct a soil treatment facility there for Mercury laden soil at the Y12 plant.

There has laboratory and field demonstrations to show that the product can bind volatile Mercury from both coal fired power plants as well as from cement plants. 

A paper was presented in March of 2013 at WM 13 -- the premier conference dealing with radioactive waste -- that shows that MBS can also bind Uranium.

Benefits of MBS are:

  • Permanently stabilizes Heavy Metal contaminants so they are non-leachable
  • Significant cost savings on transportation & disposal of soil since, after MBS treatment, it is no longer considered hazardous waste.
  • Passes the Multiple Extraction Procedure (MEP) which measures 1,000 years of advanced weathering.
  • Treats ALL RCRA Heavy Metals and most other soluble metals
  • MBS treats multiple metals concurrently
  • Can be applied as a powder or a slurry using ex-situ on in-situ techniques.
  • Treated soil material can be beneficially reused on site as cover, fill, contour or road bed base construction material.
