Since August of 2008, M² Polymer Technologies has been representing the Superabsorbent Polymer Fiber products for Technical Absorbents Limited (TAL) of Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, United Kingdom.
The Oasis Superabsorbent Fibers (OASIS SAF®) offer many exciting new product design opportunities for air-laid products and yarns. We, and TAL, also offer toll-manufacturing capabilities for nonwovens, yarns and finished consumer goods, all containing the OASIS SAF®. The OASIS SAF® is listed in the FDA Inventory of Effective Premarket Notifications for Food Contact Substances. TAL is a member of the European Disposables & Nonwovens Association (EDANA).

The OASIS SAF® chemistry is a cross-linked terpolymer of acrylic acid, methylacrylate and a small amount of a special acrylate/methacrylate monomer (SAMM) in which the acrylic acid is partially neutralized to the sodium salt of acrylic acid. The cross-links between the polymer chains are formed as ester groups by reaction between the acid groups in the acrylic acid and the hydroxyl groups in the hydroxypropylmethacrylate.
OASIS SAF® is available with variable degrees of cross-linking and in two general fiber types and sizes:
Long Staple Products (52 mm length & 10 dtex denier)
Short Staple Products (6 mm length & 10 dtex denier)
